American english is naturally easier for germans since most of the US population in the inland have a german heritage. However, you should consider that most - if not all - english in its vast variations has its primary heritage from england, thus knowing and understanding britisch english pretty much allows you to understand any english with pretty much any accent.
Its actually quite possible to tell whether one has english as his primary language or not by looking at the way one writes english. You can tell if someone looked a word up in the dictonary or was uncertain just by looking at the sentence structure.

Did somebody of you know some tongue-twisters?
I know:
-six silly sisters selling shiny shoes
-if a dog choose shoes witch shoes does he choose
-four fine fresh fishs for you-Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper.
Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled pepper?
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper,
Where's the peck of pickled pepper Peter Piper picked?I found this picure on facebook [Blockierte Grafik: https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/72618_345029862274869_833343250_n.jpg] soda = Mieralwasser und Limonade was ist hier genau gemeint? I anwsered my question myselfZitatAmerican Heart Month is coming to a close, so I leave you with my final tip and a challenge to take more effort to improve your health. In case you’re just tuning in, here’s a recap of my tips from this past month.
1. Walk at least 20 minutes a day… included a Walking Playlist too!
2. Dining-out tips.3. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
My final tip is one that is super easy to incorporate into your life. Ready?
DRINK WATER INSTEAD OF SODA.
Soda can be so addicting, but it’s sooo bad for you. And what’s more refreshing than water? It’s important to stay properly hydrated throughout the day – but NOT with soda.
There are two types of sugars in your diet… naturally occurring sugars and added sugars. Naturally occurring sugars are found naturally in food such as fruit. Added sugars is exactly what it says…. Sugar and sweeteners that are added to our food and beverages (ie. Soda). Those are the kind you want to limit and use to enhance the taste of healthy foods…like yogurt. Here’s a lil scary fact: A 12oz can of carbonated soda can contain up to 132.5 calories just from added sugar! That’s the total amount or more than we should have in a day! Yikes!
Added sugars contribute additional calories and zero nutrients to food. So drink water instead of soda to lessen the amount of added sugar you put into your body.
These 4 tips are just touching the surface on all that you can do to keep a healthy heart. And even though Heart Month is coming to an end, you should treat your heart and body right year-round!

What do you guys use english for in your daily life? I'm studying in english and pretty much speak english all day exceeding a point where i occasionally get issues with german vocabulary.
Also, i can't really ascertain where i got my english skills from certainly not from school, though

Seriously I use everytime english if I want to. The most Time I spend in english is at Home talking with american/british people.
I practise my english for more than 1 Year and I try to learn a american and later a british accent. Now I can speak clearly but I still make mistakes because I'm not a native speaker.
All I can say is that I learned the english language myself.^^ -
Actually, the only times I use english is when reading fanfictions or browsing on global pages such as wikipedia.org.
Sometimes I also have to read scientific papers if they have not been translated yet. -
What foreign languages do you speak for all?
I (German), English, Spanish, Latin, French -
